Mr Csaba BUGÁR earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at the College of Finance and his master’s degree in finance at the University of Economic Sciences.  As a first step in his career he spent 5 years at the Hungarian Credit Bank as a loan officer. He then became the Director of Investments at the Portfolio Bank in 1991 where he managed majority-held clients. In 1992 he was appointed as the deputy CEO of the Credit Guarantee Corporation, responsible for its business activities and in charge of setting up the credit guarantee operations in Hungary.
In the next 4 years he worked as the director of the workout special loans department of the ABN Amro Bank. This was followed by an advisory role to the CEO of the Hungarian Development Bank, then Mr Bugár became the CEO of the Hungarian Claim Work-Out Ltd. In 2004 he became the CEO of the Budapest Commodity Exchange, in charge of the integration process with the Budapest Stock Exchange. This was followed by a number of professional executive roles in smaller financial and investment firms. In 2010 Mr Bugár became the CEO of the Student Loan Centre Ltd. In his 9 years at the helm, an online contracting system was put in place, and a renewed and expanded student loan product portfolio and several other innovative and user-friendly solutions have been introduced too. Since July 2019, Mr Bugar is the CEO of MFB Invest, the state venture capital investment and asset management company.
